Some environmental experts describe as a "chemical cocktail of poisons" what spills onto land, sea and air from the breakdown of the seabed. The oil giant drilled kilometers deep in a geologically unstable region and may have set the stage for a premature release of a methane megabubble.


Sinister reports that the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico could be about to reach biblical proportions are leaking despite the news blackout on the BP operation.

251 million years ago a gigantic underwater methane bubble caused massive explosions, polluted the atmosphere and destroyed more than 96% of all life on Earth [1]. Experts agree that the Permian-Triassic (PT) mass extinction was the largest mass extinction event in world history [2]

55 million years later, another methane bubble ruptured causing more mass extinctions during the Upper Paleocene Thermal Maximum (LPTM). The LPTM lasted 100,000 years [3]

Those underground seas of methane virtually changed the shape of the planet by explosively bursting from deep beneath the waters of what is now called the Gulf of Mexico.

Now alarmed scientists are concerned that the same series of catastrophic events that then led to death around the world may be happening again - and that no known technology can stop it.

Bottom line is that BP's Deepwater Horizon drilling operation may have triggered an irreversible gradual geological apocalypse culminating in the first mass extinction of life on Earth in many millions of years.

Ryskin's Methane Extinction Theory

Gregory Ryskin, a biochemical engineer at Northwestern University has a theory: The ocean periodically produces massive eruptions of explosive methane gas. He has documented the scientific evidence that such an event was directly responsible for the mass extinctions that occurred 55 million years ago [4]

Many geologists agree: “The consequences of a methane-driven ocean eruption would likely be catastrophic for marine and terrestrial life. Figuratively speaking, the erupting region "overflows" by expelling large amounts of methane and other gases (eg CO2, H2S) into the atmosphere, flooding large areas of land. While pure methane is lighter than air, methane loaded with water droplets is much heavier, and therefore spreads over the land, mixing with air as it does so (and losing water as rain). The mixture of air with methane is explosive at concentrations of methane between 5 and 15%; when such mixtures are formed in different places near the ground and are ignited by lightning, explosions and conflagrations destroy most of the life on earth, and also produce large amounts of smoke and carbon dioxide… ”[5]

The warning signs of an imminent planetary catastrophe - of such magnitude that the human mind has trouble understanding it - would be the appearance of large cracks or faults that divide the seabed, a rise in the sea floor, and the massive discharge of methane and other gases to the surrounding water.

Such circumstances can lead to the rupture of the containment of the methane bubble - they can then allow methane to penetrate deep underground and undergo explosive decompression as it is catapulted into the waters of the Gulf [6]

All three of those warning signs have been documented to be occurring in the Gulf.

Ground zero: the Gulf Coast

People and property located in the greater Gulf Coast region are at Ground Zero. They will be the first exposed to toxic chemical gases, which cause cancer. They will be the ones that initially suffer the full fury of a methane bubble bursting from the broken seabed.

The media is kept away from the emergency rescue measures being taken to prevent the greatest catastrophe in human history. The [US] federal government has warned them to stay away from the epicenter of operations with the threat of $ 40,000 for each violation and the possibility of arrest for felony offenses.

Why do you keep the press away? They say the disaster is increasing.


Cracks and bumps

Methane is now escaping down the permeable, rocky seafloor at an accelerated rate, pouring out of the drilling of the first relief well. The EPA [US Environmental Control Agency] has officially noted that Platform # 1 releases methane, benzene, hydrogen sulfide and other toxic gases. Field workers now use advanced means of protection including state-of-the-art gas masks supplied by the military.

Reports leaking from oceanologists and rescue workers in the region indicate that the upper layers of the seabed are succumbing to increasing pressure. That pressure causes an immense expanse of the seafloor to swell - which some say spans thousands of square kilometers of the area surrounding BP's wellhead. Some claim that the seafloor in the region has risen astonishingly 10 meters.

BP's broken wellhead, the site of the former Deepwater Horizon, has become the epicenter of frenzied attempts to stop the monstrous methane flow.

Underground methane has a pressure of 6,805 atmospheres. According to oil industry expert Matt Simmons, the methane pressure at the wellhead has now risen to a terrifying pressure of 2,722 atmospheres.

Another respected expert, Dr. John Kessler of Texas A&M University, has calculated that the broken well is releasing 60% oil and 40% methane. The normal amount of methane escaping from an endangered well is about 5%.

More evidence? The NOAA (US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) research ship Thomas Jefferson has reported a huge cut in the ocean floor - like an irregular wound hundreds of meters long. Before the government curtain that imposed an informational blackout was again abruptly lowered, scientists aboard the ship voiced concerns that the growing fissure could descend miles into the land.

That spill also releases oil and methane. It is 16 kilometers from the epicenter of BP. Other new cracks of up to 48 kilometers have been reported.

Measurements of the multiple columns of oil that now appear miles from the wellhead indicate that up to a total of 124,000 barrels of oil are released into Gulf waters each day - that's about 20 million liters of oil a day.

Most disturbingly, methane levels in water are estimated to be nearly a million times higher than normal [7]

Mass death in the water

If the methane bubble - a bubble that could be 20 miles long - bursts with titanic force from the seafloor into the Gulf, every ship, drilling rig and structure within the bubble region will immediately sink. All workers, engineers, Coast Guard personnel and marine biologists participating in the rescue operation will be killed instantly.

Then the ocean floor will collapse, instantly displacing up to 150 billion cubic meters of water or more and creating a high-rise supersonic tsunami that will wipe out everything along the coast and well inland. Like a thermonuclear explosion, a high pressure atmospheric wave could precede the ocean wave, sweeping everything in its path before the arrival of the water.

When the thunderous tsunami hits it will sweep away all that remains.

A chemical cocktail of poisons

Some environmental experts describe as a “chemical cocktail of poisons” what spills onto land, sea and air from the rupture of the seabed.

Dead zone areas deprived of oxygen are expelling fish species into external waters, killing plankton and all the small marine life that is the foundation of the food chain, and polluting the air with carcinogenic chemicals and toxic precipitation.

A report from an observer from South Carolina documents oily debris after a recent storm. And before the news blackout was fully lifted, the EPA released data that benzene levels in New Orleans had risen to 3,000 parts per billion.

Benzene is extremely toxic, and even short-term exposure can cause excruciating death from cancer lesions years later.

The people of Louisiana have been exposed for more than two months, and benzene levels may be much higher now. The EPA measurement was made in early May. [8]

Doomsday

Some will say it can't happen because most of the methane is frozen in crystalline form, others point out that the underground methane sea is gradually melting due to emerging oil that is estimated to reach 260 degrees Celsius.

Most informed experts, however, agree that if the world-changing event does occur, it will happen suddenly and within the next 6 months.

So if events go against humanity and the bubble bursts in the next few months, Gregory Ryskin will become one of the most famous people in the world. By the way, you won't have long to enjoy your newfound fame because civilization will collapse shortly after the methane eruption.

Mankind may be very, very lucky and that someone will find a way to prevent mass extinction from occurring and thus conserve the human race.
